- Be sure to have your pots, pans, ingredients, utensils, etc., prepared, pre-measured, pre-heated, pre-chopped.
- Have partially prepared foods ready at crucial times of the process to show if it will benefit the viewers understanding of the procedure.
- Have a finished product ready to eat, drink or show at the end of the clip.
- Be sure your ingredients are written down and incorporated into the segment.
- Smile a lot, look into the camera.
- Be sure your hands and your mouth can function simultaneously. You don’t want much dead time during your presentation.
- Besides a camera operator, have someone prompt your actions as well.
- Use lots of lights in your work area.
- Don't edit out all of the mishaps. We are
really cooking here!
