Ingredients:
Dough:
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp sugar
12 Tbsp cold unsalted butter diced
1/2 cup ice water
Filling:
4 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and diced small
3 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp allspice
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1/2 cup white sugar
Instructions:
For the dough, combine flour, salt and sugar in food processor. Add the butter and pulse until the butter is in small pieces. Pour the cold water down the feed tube with the motor running until the dough comes together and starts to form a ball. Wrap the ball in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Prepare the filling ingredients while you wait on the dough to rest.
Roll dough to 1/8" thickness. Cut in 4" squares. Place 2-3 Tbsp filling in the center of the square, fold corner to corner and seal with a fork. Brush with egg wash.
Bake at 375 degrees on cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray until golden brown - about 25 to 30 minutes.
